Dog died after two hours in a car

<p class=”first”>Another reminder that animals like children should not be left in cars. A guy from the West Midlands left his Red Setter named Trueman in the car for two hours and the poor dog died from heatstroke. He has only been banned from keeping a dog for a year! What’s up with that, he should have gotten longer than that!

Anyway, here is the rest of the story from the BBC website

“Nigel Trueman, 45, of Wolverhampton, West Midlands was banned from keeping dogs for a year after he admitted causing unnecessary suffering.

Denbigh magistrates heard the dog, called Connor, was left for two hours in the car in July 2008.

Describing it as a “careless act”, magistrates ordered him to carry out 60 hours unpaid work and pay £500 costs.

Collapsed

The court heard Trueman had been in a meeting at Bodelwyddan, Denbighshire.

The dog was later discovered collapsed in the car at Kinmel Park depot. It was taken to a nearby vet but was dead on arrival.

The court heard that even if a window had been open and the dog had drunk the bowl of water in the car, it would probably still have suffered rapid dehydration.

A defence solicitor claimed Trueman had not deliberately disregarded the pet’s welfare, and the defendant claimed he had left a window open.

It was an overcast day and he had not considered it to be too warm, the court heard”
